Thoughts of Switzerland are sure to conjure images of quaint, Alpine villages and majestic, snow-capped mountains.  But Switzerland is so much more. Did you know that...

Switzerland boasts some of the world's most famous inventions?  Velcro, cellophane, milk chocolate, and the Swiss Army Knife, were invented in Switzerland.

Half of the luxury watches produced in the world come from Switzerland?  Brands like Tissot, TAG Heuer, and Rolex are all Swiss.

Switzerland has more than 1,500 lakes?  No matter where you are, you're never more than 10 miles from a lake.

Switzerland is home to 450 varieties of cheese?  They range from extra hard to soft, with crazy-hard-to-pronounce names like Sbrinz, Mutschli, Formaggini, and Tomme Vaudoise.
When you travel with CDC Distributors, you will have the opportunity to visit this enchanted country for a grand tour of some of its most famous cities, and sample the chocolate, cheese, and hospitality that make Switzerland famous.
Land-locked between five countries (Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Liechtenstein), Switzerland seems to have taken the best of each to become a country that is fiercely independent, environmentally-conscious, and one of the most desirable travel destinations on the planet.
Our trip includes all of the features that you have come to expect from a CDC Distributors trip, including premium accommodations (including three nights in Interlaken and four nights in Montreux, round-trip airfare into Zurich and returning from Geneva, round-trip transfers throughout, six group tours and activities, breakfast and dinner daily,  private welcome & farewell evenings so you can meet up with old friends, all baggage handling, gratuities and travel-related taxes throughout, and so much more!  Contact your local CDC Distributors territory manager for complete details.

More Information
The small town of Interlaken sits between the crystal-clear lakes of Thun and Brienz, and is surrounded by sparkling streams, fantastic falls and extraordinary scenery including the famous mountain peaks of Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau.  It's natural beauty has inspired a wealth of  poets, painters and musicians since the 18th century.

The area around Interlaken presents a wide variety of attractions and activities. The nearby mountains attract climbers and hikers in summer, but more relaxed mountain excursions are very popular to enjoy great views of the valleys and Alpine peaks from the summits.

Looking for something a bit less strenuous?  Take a stroll along the famous "Höheweg" promenade that links the urban center of Interlaken West with the much more scattered Interlaken East. It is one of the best locations in Switzerland for souvenir and watch shopping, and offers superb views of the Jungfrau mountain range.
Interlaken
VICTORIA JUNGFRAU GRAND HOTEL

In the heart of Interlaken sits the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel - an impressive five-star hotel rich in both history and tradition.  Uniting two 19th-century hotels, the Victoria Jungfrau is situated right on Interlaken's famous Höheweg shopping promenade, and just a short walk to the Casino Interlaken.  While you're out exploring, you'll marvel at the spectacular sights of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains, visible everywhere you turn.

And, when you're ready to turn in, you'll appreciate the comfortable accommodations.  Rooms are bright and airy, and elegantly-appointed without missing any modern comforts.

INTERLAKEN BY SEGWAY

Since Interlaken is world-renown for its adventure tours, it seems only fitting that we tour this wonderful city in a more "unique" way - via Segway!  These two-wheeled, self-balancing personal vehicles are eco-friendly and let you easily navigate the streets of Interlaken.  A professional guide will teach you how to operate your Segway, and point out the sights along the way.  For those looking for a "less adventurous" way to see Interlaken, we've included tickets on the Harder Kulm funicular for breathtaking views of the Alps and lakes below.

JUNGFRAUJOCH "TOP OF EUROPE"

One of the "must see" places in Switzerland, Jungfraujoch is Europe’s highest railway station at an altitude of 11,000 feet.  Once you visit you'll see why it's often called the “Top of Europe”.  Words simply cannot describe the breathtaking scenery you'll encounter.
A pioneering masterpiece, construction of the Jungfrau Railway began over 100 years ago, and started transporting passengers in 1912. Upon leaving Interlaken, the train stops at Kleine Scheidegg.  From there, the Jungfrau railway climbs to the Eiger Glacier station, before continuing through the Eiger tunnel  on the way to Jungfraujoch.  A stop within the tunnel offers spectacular views onto the glacier world outside through windows in the Eiger North Face.

Situated on the banks of Lake Geneva in the heart of the Swiss Riviera, Montreux's beauty has inspired artists for generations, from Lord Byron's poem “The Prisoner of Chillon,” to the 1972 Deep Purple song "Smoke on the Water."  Its world-famous Jazz Festival continues to bring together music's best-known stars with today's up-and-coming artists.

But, Montreux is also a dynamic city, offering visitors a diverse shopping experience, a convenient location for dozens of activities, a lakefront promenade said to be among the finest in the world, and Switzerland's most visited monument -- the 800-year-old Chillon Castle.  And, due to its mild climate, Montreux also stands out as one of the best wine-producing regions in Switzerland.  Listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage-site, the terraced vineyards of Lavaux offer some of the most spectacular sights on the shores of Lake Geneva.

FAIRMONT LE MONTREUX PALACE

Opulent.  Luxurious.  Palatial.  No matter how you describe the  Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, you will be impressed by its regal decor, elegantly-appointed accommodations, and attention to detail befitting a five-star hotel.

Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, with magnificent views of the lake and the Alps, the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace is considered the jewel of the Swiss Riviera, and is a member of the the Leading Hotels of the World.
ZERMATT & THE MATTERHORN

Huddled at the foot of the Alps’, Zermatt is the classic, picture-perfect alpine village. Its main street, the Bahnhofstrasse, is undisturbed by the sound and pollution of traffic (no cars have been allowed in Zermatt since 1947), which makes for superior air quality and a delightful shopping experience.   And, no matter where you turn, the mystical Matterhorn is ever present.

The downtown location means you're just steps from Montreux's numerous shops, restaurants, and exuberant nightlife.  Be sure to leave time for a leisurely stroll along the promenade.
Straddling the border between Switzerland and Italy, the Matterhorn is, without a doubt, one of the most famous mountains on earth. Its near-symmetrical pyramid makes it among the most recognizable as well.  Our day trip will provide you with an opportunity to stroll shops of Zermatt and, for those interested, ride the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, the highest cable car station in Europe for spectacular views of Italy, France, Switzerland and, of course, the Matterhorn.
